What people ask before placing a lost & found notice

The questions we are asked most, answered plainly. Anything else, our team replies on chat within 30 minutes.

Cost & documents 02 QUESTIONS
What it costs and what you need
Q. How much does a lost & found notice cost?

A lost or found notice is short, so it is usually inexpensive — most cost between ₹300 and ₹700, priced by the paper, city edition and word count, plus 5% GST. Pick your paper above for the exact rate, at a lowest-price guarantee.

Q. What documents do I need?

It depends on what was lost. A lost document (passport, licence, cheque book) usually needs an FIR or police complaint; a lost certificate or marksheet often needs an affidavit; a share certificate needs the company's format. You arrange the document; we do not provide it. If you're unsure, ask the authority asking for the notice.

Writing & which paper 02 QUESTIONS
The wording and the newspaper
Q. Can you write the notice for me?

This often serves as legal proof, so we publish exactly what you approve and do not draft or translate the wording. We give you a ready sample format for the common cases — lost document, lost certificate, lost share certificate — to fill in, and a proof to check before you pay.

Q. Which newspaper should I use?

Any paper your authority accepts — we book 131 newspapers across every language and city. If your office hasn't specified one, a widely-read local daily is usually accepted; tell us your city and we'll suggest one.

Timing & proof 02 QUESTIONS
When it runs and how you prove it
Q. When will it publish?

Most notices can run the next day if booked before that paper's cut-off; the notice also passes a quick editorial check. Tell us your deadline and we'll pick a paper and date that meets it.

Q. How do I know it published? Can I get proof?

You can track your order, and once it runs you can view your notice in that newspaper's e-paper for the date and edition — the copy authorities accept — or buy a printed copy from a local newsstand.
